Architectural Design + Passivhaus + Whole House Retrofit
Architectural Design
We have a hands-on approach to design, combined with a strong technical understanding of how buildings work. All our designs are underpinned by passive design principles and a collaborative approach with the client.
With three ARB registered architects in our team, we can project manage your build and provide the professional support you need.

Physical models can be a valuable addition to the design process

Whole House Retrofit
A new approach to future proofing existing buildings.
As qualified Retrofit Coordinators we are here to provide independent expert advice and guidance, throughout your project.
From improving your energy bills, to better air quality, or reducing your carbon emissions, your ambitions are central to a Retrofit Plan that will future proof your home.

Non-Domestic Retrofit
Our retrofit service extends to community buildings, commercial buildings and sports facilities. Read more
The Scottish Gas Club and Community Net Zero Fund offers every rugby club in Scotland a unique opportunity to access our expertise. We are currently providing Retrofit Plans for all 130 clubs, showing them how they could reduce their energy consumption by up to 90%
We have also helped community buildings across Aberdeenshire better understand their buildings and plan for the future.
Transitioning large buildings like these to zero-emissions heating systems is difficult, but also represents a huge opportunity to improve the comfort and health of the building and it's occupants, as well as model examples for our communities.

Passive House Design
The Passivhaus standard was first written in 1996 and designed to provide high levels of thermal comfort, air quality and stable temperatures throughout. Passivhaus buildings are also very energy efficient.
Existing buildings can be renovated to the Passive House EnerPHit Standard.

Traditional Buildings
There are many challenges in working with listed buildings, they function very differently to modern building and the management of heat, air and moisture in the fabric of the building is very important to understand.
We have worked on many listed buildings in north east Scotland, some for restoration, others for retrofit. Some are now running on heat pumps.

Community Work
We work with communities across Scotland to help them understand their buildings, to develop their ideas and to explore the opportunities of a place-based transition.
We can help with strategic energy modelling, energy generation, community engagement projects and local place plans.
