Key Responsibilities:
Retrofit Assessments and Designs:
Lead the development and implementation of multiple whole house retrofit and design projects for residential and non-domestic buildings.
Conduct detailed assessments to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and carbon reduction in existing structures.
Collaborate with the team to integrate sustainable design principles into both retrofit and new construction projects.
Support to Architectural Projects:
Provide technical support and expertise to the team, contributing to the successful delivery of projects.
Offer insights and recommendations on sustainable building materials, energy-efficient systems, and green building certifications.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Lead the design and implementation of retrofit projects, through all stages of the RIBA plan of work, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to develop tailored strategies.
Conduct site visits and surveys to assess building performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in sustainable architecture and retrofitting.
Development of retrofit strategies and maintenance work, taking into account project budgets and funding constraints.
Work Location
While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates residing in or near the North East of Scotland for easier access to the office and project sites.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
ARB Registered/ Experienced Part II , with a strong focus on sustainable design and retrofit.
Minimum of 4 years of experience working within the UK for consultancies or architectural firms.
Site experience, leading the delivery of projects on site.
Must be competent in CAD and have working knowledge of SketchUp
Working knowledge of Scottish Building Standards
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, design teams, contractors and local authorities
Hold a full driving licence
You will have experience working at all project stages.
Experience of preparing and submitting planning applications and building warrants.
Excellent time management and organisation skills including project programming and resource management.
Excellent communication skills - fluent and confident in both spoken and written English.
Desirable:
Climate literacy and awareness of the challenge faced by the construction sector
Proficient in the use of Sketch-up
Interested in community focussed solutions
Whole Life-Cycle Analysis experience
Adobe CC experience
Hands on construction experience, building or renovating houses
Knowledge of thermal bridge analysis using Flixo
Experience with PHPP or similar energy modelling software
